This systems supports the automation of the formation of gas-filled switching-spark gaps, used to start the ignition of xenon lamps. The ionization of the gas is performed in reproducible quality.
An AC formation with voltage up to 3000V and current up to 200A is executed. The systems is characterized by a compact design and variable placement with fast changeable modules. Simultaneous formation of multiple switching-spark gaps is possible. In addition the system is easily operated via display and keyboard with different access levels.
The inserted formation modules are automatically recognized. A plausibility check of the selected operating parameters is performed. The formation-process is monitored with separation of defective parts. The Measurement of the ignition voltage is done using a self-developed peak memory.
